Madonna asked to reprise her ”Evita” role for the Diana memorial

Madonna had to turn down the invite to perform at the Diana memorial concert because of her committment with the Live Earth gig six days later, it was reported.

The Daily Mirror reports that Andrew Lloyd Webber asked Madonna to reprise her role as Evita for the concert.

A source told the paper: “Live Earth approached Madonna first and she is committed to performing there. It would be extremely hard to rehearse for both gigs at the same time and she wouldn’t want to give less than 100 per cent to either.”
