February 1991 – Madonna on Vogue Italia
This month, 20 years ago, Madonna was on the cover of prestigious Vogue Italia magazine, with a photoshoot titled “Madonna Like Marilyn” by Steven Meisel that would make Madonna history.
Photos of this shoot would be later used to promote the film In Bed With Madonna in 1991 and the Sex book in 1992. A close up of the nude photo of Madonna on a bed with a cigarette in her mouth, that debuted on this issue, would later be used as the cover for her 1993 single Bad Girl from the Erotica album.
