M by Madonna debuts in Manchester

“Hey guys,
I just got back from Manchester, very grey and cold up here, but I have a smile on my face as I was first in the queue to buy my M by Madonna sunglasses. I have one pair of white and one pair of black ones.

There was a queue of about 7 ladies waiting outside the Market Street store at 10 to 9, all chatting about what they were going to buy, pointing through the glass doors at the main display just inside. I asked them if they minded me taking their picture for MTribe, but none seemed too happy about close ups that early in the morning!

The group increased to about 15 just before the store opened at 9am, and once through the doors I raised my camera to be asked by a rather camp store assistant not to take photos in the store. Grr!

So instead I went straight for the sunglasses and to the cash point. Sadly the glasses are the only item in the collection I could get away with wearing. There were no promo items up for grabs (it’s grim up north), but I did get two bags from the slightly incompetent sales assistant – a small plastic one and lovely shoebox sized card bag.

All in all this Madonna moment lasted 4 minutes, and now I’m back at home posing in my sunglasses, waiting for the summer so I can wear them outside.

I’m also waiting for “Men by Madonna“, surely this isn’t far away? “Dress your man up like Guy” etc. Thinking about it actually, Guy’s style is very similar to the H&M style anyway. Here’s hoping!!!”
