Festival atmostphere in city for concert

Madonna fans in the city not already queuing at the stadium can head to the Cardiff Bay area on the waterfront today for the annual MAS Carnival and Parade at 5pm-10.30pm. Look out for the bendy “baycar” buses in the city centre to take you to the waterfront (?1).

The parade leaves from the Butetown Youth Pavilion in the Canal Path Park at 17.00GMT and arrives at Roald Dahl Plass at 18:15GMT. Main stage entertainment includes authentic Caribbean Carnival sounds from Soca Superstar STORM, Steel pan melodies, Afro-Caribbean drum and dance troupes and the hottest Carnival DJs.

“The 16th annual Cardiff MAS Carnival returns with hundreds of flamboyant costumes and carnival creations, masks and headpieces, giant puppets on backpacks and mobile sculptures – dancing dynamically through the streets of Cardiff Bay with the finale at Roald Dahl Plass/Oval Basin on the waterfront.”
