Full Hung Up for your mobile on October 17

Today’s edition of “Le Figaro” features an article by Emmanuel Torregano about Warner Music France and France Telecom teaming up to promote the release of Madonna’s “Confessions On A Dance Floor” album.

In the article we also learn that a second ringtone from “Hung Up” will be available for French mobile phone users on October 4 and the full song will also be available on October 17, the same day of its radio debut and three weels prior to the single release date in stores.

“Warner Music France has teamed up with France Telecom and has special plans to promote and distribute Madonna on the French phones in the near future.

The two companies are working on the project since last Spring, offering to the Record and the Mobile Communication companies the chance to develop exclusive multi-platform content, including realtone ringtones, tunes that will be played when you are waiting on line, music to be bought straight from the net and even the chance to buy video clips on demand.

What Warner and France Telecom were waiting for was an artist able to imaugurate the joint-venture with some high profile products, and the natural choice was Madonna and her “Confessions On A Dance Floor“. The album will be in the stores on November 14, but the first single will be available since October 17.

Fans will have to wait another month to hear the first notes from “Confessions”, but the new Madonna sound is having its avant-première already on the phones of the Orange netwrok- that is one of the companies owned by France Telecom.

Thierry Chassagne, president of Warner Music France, explains that “the release of the new Madonna it is part of the new strategy of our group, that is oriented to the digital and artistic sides at the same time. We worked on a special support plan that will work from now on until the album debut in stores and we have high hopes about the project, as in the first semester of the year digital music has represented the 3% of our business”.

In details, the first ringtone from the single is available to download for Orange clients since the beginning of the week, but it is not yet available to radios – that have been the usual way to promote the new releases of the singer so far. Time changes.

The ringtone is in fact a 30 second clip, especially selected by Madonna and her record company. Fans will have to pay 3 € to hear Madonna herself letting them know they have a new call coming in. The record company is goint to get 60 cents from the total price of the ringtone.

From September 26, no less than five songs from the artist’s greatest hits will be available for listening and downloading on the Orange mobile phones.
The next phase starts on October 4 with four new ringtones and a new version of the single from “Confessions On A Dancefloor“.

And at last, on October 17, the D-Day of this special promotional plan as the full song will be available. At the same time a multi-platform strategy will allow the music and videos of MadonnaWanadoo internet portal, the ADSL aceess of Ma LigneTV and Ma LigneVisio, and Madonna will also be all over the France Telecom network.
