Sire Records, the Warner Bros. imprint that
was recently reactivated by its founder, Seymour Stein, has just signed pop singer Mandy Moore.
Stein is the veteran executive who helped shepherd the career of Madonna. Apparently Stein signed the queen of pop to his label in the early eighties from his hospital bed. The rest is history
