Madonna of the Goths

There’s a small mention of Madonna on an article about fashion designer Olivier Theyskens on today’s edition of The Washington Post. Thebelgian designer, who has just presented his collection for Rochas in Paris surprised the critics with a measured and sophisticated approach to Rochas that came as something of a surprise.

“Theyskens first gained prominence when he created a dress for one of Madonna’s red carpet appearances. Theyskens transformed her into a Madonna of the Goths, with a full-skirted murky gray dress that tempted one to ask whether she’d left her flying monkeys back in the limo.”

Olivier Theyskens dressed Madonna in a few public appearences in the Ray Of Light era.
