First Radio1 interview

Madonna Tribe’s community member Howiet has just posted in our forum that Radio 1 just played Madonna‘s 1st ever Radio 1 interview, recorded in 1984. It was a short interview, and the Dj asked Madonna about dance remixes.
She said that everyone wants a dance hit, and even people like Dolly Parton were taking their tracks to people like Jellybean to get them to be remixed for the dance floor. She also said that people had thought she was black because her face wasn’t on the 1st single.
She sounded the same, a few more “ums”, but she had the same attitude, slightly cold and her voice a little higher. They followed the interview with Holiday, after saying she had had 56 top 10 hits. Nothing we haven’t heard or read before, but interesting…
