Madonna’s children’s book, The English Roses, has sold 14,494 copies in the two weeks since publication.
That is about 138,000 copies fewer than David Beckham’s My Side has sold in the same period, and 3,000 fewer than the bestselling hardback novel, Robert Harris’s Pompeii.
But it is a very high number for a children’s picture book.
