Madonna Style
Today MadonnaTribe is happy to welcome our new collaborator from Canada, long time Madonna fan Angie Hung that would like to share a couple of stories with our readers.
Let’s hear it from Angie, who had the chance to appear in the great coffeetable-style book about Madonna called Madonna Style, published in 2002 and a “Must” in every Madonna collection:
“Madonna Style is written by Carol Clerk. She was a news editor
for UK magazine “Melody Maker” for 20 years.
A few years ago, I was contacted by a researcher for the book, who was looking
for information on Madonna’s dancers, an area I’m very interested about. I
gave him the information that he needed, and then suddenly he asked me if I
wanted to be interviewed for the book! After ensuring that the book was going
to be a positive overview of Madonna‘s career (as opposed to a trashy
tabloid-like review), I agreed to be interviewed. I was so happy when the book
came out. It’s got some very nice rare pictures of Madonna and is an excellent addition
to one’s collection. It’s available at Virgin Megastores around the world as
well as major bookstores that import (like Chapters bookstore in Canada).”
Angie was also personally invited by Sir Tim Rice to the Evita premiere in Los Angeles in 1996.
“I didn’t get to meet Madonna, but I did
get to watch the movie with the other celebs and then attend the after-party
afterwards.”
