Confessions on a Canadian Dance Floor: Hung Up hits Atlantic Canada

This past weekend our reader Ray_0f_Light hit his local gay bar for a night of dancing and was feeling the ache to ‘get in the groove’ to Madonna. “I asked our dj to play “Ray of Light” and he told me to wait for it towards the end of the night”, he writes. “Well, even though Ray of Light is my absolute favourite Madonna song and I love to hear it and dance to it even more, I was in for a surprise, as were the rest of the some 200 people there.

Just before the night was ending, the dj came on and said, “this one is going out to my special ‘Ray of Light’ “… then I heard the alarm clock going off and I almost hit the roof. I think I was the only person on the floor who knew what the song was at that time but soon the dj announced that what we were hearing, for the first time in Nova Scotia, was Madonna’s new single, “Hung Up.” The place went crazy! Everyone screamed and jumped as the lights danced insanely, steam filled the room and Stuart Price’s extended mix blasted from the speakers. I have NEVER felt that type of energy on a dance floor before… not even from myself when Ray of Light is spinning!

The reaction to the song was out of this world and everyone I know has been talking about it ever since.

I think the coming months will have everyone making their Confessions On Dance Floors all over the world!
