Live in Budapest: Kincsem Park review, videos and pictures by Robert
Madonna delivered yet another kick-ass show at Kincsem Park yesterday night, and this is the thrilled report M-Tribe Community member Robert aka hr posted in our Forum tonigh right after the concert.
"Well, first of all let me tell you that it wasn't sure at all, that I'm going to see this show, which I found a bit unfair, as I thought my long work as editor on a Hungarian fanpage would make me have a pretty good karma when it comes to Madonna. But I couldn't pay the GC tickets, and I was very dissapointed, untill a friend of mine helped me out, and I am really grateful for that, I couldn't have lived all these through without him...
Me and my friends went to Kincsem Park at 5 pm yesterday, there was a great fan organised list which was written in the order of appaerance at the venue. We got wirstbands and everything. I was number 39, which was... pretty bad, untill I heard how some people got 88 and 160…
The organasation was good, there was only one weak point... When they were just about to let us in, they said NO, wait, and made us sit down again and wait in the sauna-like crowd, which was just about to break in. The soundcheck was already running by that time, she was rehearsing the first 4 song, and she sang Human Nature two times.
So, there we were, hundreds of fans, waiting outside, listening the soundcheck and hoping, we could see a bit of it. But we had to wait another one and a half our. My ticket almost ripped apart by then and one organiser said that I have to go to some ladies, who will check if it's real. I thought 'NO WAY', I won't give u front row because of that... :)
When they finally opened the gates, we started to run like craaaaaaazy, and I am very glad of myself, cause I ran really very quickly. Of course I had to run 5 kms three time every week for that but it was worth it.
I had to do something with my ticket, so I foled it up, just where it was ripped, and I held it while the girl read it with her machine.
After that I just ran as quickly as possible, and it was the most amazing moment, cause it was near to sunset, and Madonna was rehearsing Miles Away. It was fantastic, I won't ever forget that feeling. Running through the park and looking constantly at the stage while I heard „You always love me more miles away…” I just ran and ran I couldn't really believe it but in a second I was in front row, right in front of the B stage in the middle....
I was in complete shock because of that place. I looked up, and there she was, singing Miles Away, looking at us, laughing and looking fabolous. She did Frozen right after that, followed Ray of Light. She asked us if we knew the lyrics (she seemed to be a bit unsure about them, which I just can’t understand as she is singing that songs since 2001...). Anyway, it all was just like in Udine, she put the microphone between her knees and we sang the song louder then my ears could imagine it. :)
Then she looked at a guy, she clearly recognized him, and ask where he was from. I didn't understand what he said, but then I learnt he was from New York, and Madonna jumped down from the stage to hihg-five him and handed her pick to him, which was a bit hard, as we all tried to reach her, and I managed to touch her hand as well (that’s why my video about that is soo shaky). :)
She then got on the stage again and walked back, when the people in the Gold Circle realised that she is going away, started to sing happy birthday, she turned around (she was on the main stage), she said something in her mic ("Thank you", I guess), but it was turned off. She tried again but we still didn't hear anything, and she walked off.
And the long wait started... Oakenfold was pretty boring, only Celebration got a big roar and waving hands, the others weren't that good imo.
Of course Guy Oseary and the dancers made their rounds, I gave Guy our Birthday video made for Madonna on a CD, and he made his usual photos about the crowd.
We were all dying for some water, lots of people fainted and I felt close to that, but fortunately I got some drink from other fans.
There was a chance of rain during the show, so they covered the stage, which took loooots of time, and while they did that, DJ Enferno started playing some songs. Eventually the rain only started during the rave section, so if they would have started the concert earlier we all could have gone home before the rain started. But they didn’t know anything for sure, so they had to cover the stage. The roadies though were pretty funny. When they tested the big LED screen above the B stage, they played a bit woth the corwd. They walked above the screen and pretended that they are pushing it up. The audience loved it, and they even shouted like those weight-lifters. Later another roadie came out (they clearly wanted to do something with teh crowd, to not to be that upset because of the delay), he came out in a self made super hero cloak and mask, run through the stage and teased the crowd.
Madonna was very late, she came out around ten, and the crowd was pretty impatient untill then, but they forgott hat when the intro started.
The show went down very well, I don't really know what to say about it. She had a HUGE smile during every single song, of course she said "Hello Budapest" "That’s what I’m talking about Hungary”, and such things.
My "first moment" arrived during Human Nature. She was singing whole verses looking into my eyes, and I sang with her. It was amazing, but that wasn't it at all.
The next eye contact was during Holiday, when she looked at me, and then smiled. We sang "holiday, celebration" lines together. :)
BUT the absolute highlight of the show arrived during You Must Love Me. I had an idea months before that, about hundreds of papers showed up during that song. So we printed many of "Hungary Loves You, Happy Birthday" etc. papers and made a campaing for the project. So when she sat on her chair, we held up those papers, and it was fantastic, especially for me, as I seen my vision coming true (Guy Oseary filmed it btw). She was very surprised, she even said "It's amazing" to Monte, but she didn't do any kind of a speech which saddened me, but not for too long.
Almost from the beginning of the song she was looking at me, like she knew that it was all my idea, of course I was very lucky, as I was standing right in front of her chair. She looked at me, I smiled at her, she smiled back and WINKED :), I winked back of course. It was sooo great. :) Words can not express.
After that she was looking at me a lot, and we sang a few verses together, it was just purely amazing, and I couldn't believe to my eyes. There she was, the women whom I adored for soo long, for her amazing talent and work, and when she did that and I saw her on stage everything got together and I felt that everything is the most perfect. I felt that I know her now a lot more, cause I was able to look deep in her eyes, and she wanted me to do soo. That’s a moment that I want to live through again.
I really don't know what else to say, she didn't jump down after Give It 2 Me, as the stage was very close to us, and she didn't have enough space.
She was very joyful and playful during the concert she had the funniest faces and she was even laughing about herself all the time. Of course, only the people watching ehr closely, were able to see how interactive she was with the crowd and how much happier and relaxed she was on stage, than last year.
When the concert ended I felt I am the happiest guy on the world, and I couldn’t think of anything else, only those eyes which finally showed me something more behind the face.
I wish everyone could live through those moments, and I hope my pictures and videos will show how great this night was."

Madonna fans in Budapest got a special threat from the lady herself yesterday night as the gates at Kincsem Park opened when rehearsals were still taking place.
The lucky fans attending the concert in Hungary therefore managed to see Madonna performing the final part of "Miles Away", before going on with "Frozen" and "Ray of Light".
Madonna also looked at a guy and asked him about how many show he had seen, and that had to be quite a huge number as she then jumped down the stage and handed her guitar pick to him.
Check out four pictures from yesterday's rehearsals shared by our Community member hr - with much more to come from Budapest, Hungary.
A few images of the Madonna stage being erected at Kincsem Park for tonight's tour stop in Hungary have been shared by M-Tribe reader Gabci. Check them out at our Sticky & Sweet Tour Galleries by clicking the preview images below.

Just like last year, the Hungarian Madonna fans have chosen a creative and entertaining way to wish happy birthday to their idol, by making a special video for her.
"We've worked on this very hard, and we all hope you'll enjoy it!" - says M-Tribe Community member and contributor hr.
Our friend also made a little but very useful guide for those cominge to the Budapest show from abroad:
The Location:
"Kincsem Park" is a racecourse, which has a long history, as horse racing has been always a very popular sport in Hungary. It was totally renovated in the last few years. This 84-hectare park isn’t far at all from the heart of the city, and this is the first time when it will be used as a music-event venue.
There will be three standing section, bronze, silver and golden, and a seated area which will be arranged into three categories, including VIP.
There will be two entries to the show, A1 and A2, everyone will be let in at those gates, and the different categories will be selected only after that. Each category will have their own seperated way to their section, so it will be quiet easy to get in.
How to get there:
Budapest’s public transport pretty good, but it’s a bit messy this summer, as their are constructions going on all around the city. We have many buses, trolley-buses, trams, but we have only 3 metro lines (4 is being built right now).
There are several ways to get to Kincsem Park, but the easiest is going by Metro 2 (the red line), into the direction of ’Örs Vezér Tere’ and get off at ’Pillangó utca’. The Park is only a 10 minutes walk from there. Of course on the day of the show, signs will help in directing the audience locally.
After the show:
The show is supposed to end before the night lines begin, the whole Albertirsai road will be closed down from the traffic and the last metro leaves at 23:21. Also there is another way to get to the city center. Very close to the Park there is a train station, where you can get on a train which will take you to the Western Train Station (Nyugati Pályaudvar). From there you can get to anywhere very easily.
Afterparties:
There will be two major party after the show. One of them at ’Candy’, which is the closer one, at ’Roosevelt tér’ 7-8 (one ticket is about 13 EUR). The other party will be held at ’Placc’, which is pretty far from the concert, at the National Theatre (one ticket is about 4 EUR).
For any further questions visit the topic of the Budapest show on the Madonnatribe Forum.
See you all on August 22nd, and have a great time!
Live Nation Hungary has accepted the apology of NUSI, concerning the problems that have arisen about the booking of the Puskas Ferenc Stadium for the concert of Madonna on August 22nd, and hereby informs the audience that the show will remain at the original venue, the Kincsem Park Hippodrome.
Live Nation remains perplexed by the position of the President of the Hungarian Football Federation, who refused our offer of grass replacement at the Puskas Ferenc Stadium, which would clearly have been in the best interests of Hungarian football. But the most important thing now is that the show must go on, and we must accept that the time is not sufficient to try to solve the issues, in the face of such inflexibility. Unfortunately though, this inflexibility could have serious consequences for the future of major concerts in Hungary.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a very special thanks to the management of Kincsem Park, who have shown commendable willingness to help throughout this affair. We look forward to welcoming the Madonna audience to an unforgettable concert at their excellent venue.
All tickets remain valid to the Kincsem Park with the original conditions.

Live in Budapest: Official statement from Live Nation Hungary
Live Nation Hungary released the following statement about the location of the Madonna concert in Budapest:
Live Nation Hungary Ltd. is puzzled by the situation around the Madonna concert scheduled on August 22 in Budapest. After their decision to change the venue, the company had contacted the Puskas Ferenc Stadium and received a signed, written confirmation from the management on July 21.
In order to solve the current situation, Tim Dowdall, the Regional Vice-President Of Live Nation Ltd. initiated a meeting with the President of the Hungarian Football Association, Mr. Istvan Kisteleki, which will take place next week.
Because of this the sale of the new tickets and the designation of the seated places will not start on 31 July (as announced previously), but, hopefully, will happen shortly after successful negotiations.
In the meantime, we ask the fans for a little understanding and patience, because the concert will be held in Budapest, and we will do everything to make sure that everybody attending the concert will return home after an unforgettable experience on the evening of August 22.
Live in Budapest: Madonna to sing on Budapest soccer stadium
Madonna will perform at a Budapest soccer stadium despite protests by the Hungarian Football Association, organizers said Wednesday.
If Madonna's show is held at the Puskas stadium, two years of work of the national soccer team could be ruined, Istvan Kisteleki of the Hungarian soccer association told the Hungarian news agency MTI.
The Hungarian national team is scheduled to play two major world cup qualification matches early in September and it would take more than 30 days to repair the turf on Budapest's Ferenc Puskas stadium after Madonna's concert Aug. 22.
Lajos Vajto, the director of Budapest's Kincsem Park, the site for horse tracks, said the Madonna concert could be held on his facility if the Puskas soccer stadium refuses to stage the show.
If you are to attend the Sticky & Sweet Tour show scheduled in Budapest on August 22, please note that the show moves from Kincsem Park to Puskas Ferenc Stadion.
All tickets remain valid in the new venue!
Gold and Silver tickets remain in the same location in front of the stage. The allocation for the Bronze ticket owners will be on the grandstands, therefore closer to the stage and with a much better view.
The VIP ticket service remains exactly the same. The ticket-holders will receive a personal note about their exact seating location and parking place directly to their mailboxes.
All other seated ticket holders - as originally planned at Kincsem Park - will be on the tribunes facing the stage. They can get their new seat numbers at the Ticketpro central office (Budapest, VII. Károly krt. 9.) from July 31th until August 19th, or at the venue on the show day.
With the change of venue to the Puskas Ferenc Stadium tickets additional tickets are now available in the Ticketpro network, including new seated tickets. The new seated tickets can be purchased in all TicketPro outlets from July 31st.
