More pictures from the 2009 leg of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour come of course from the opening night concert at the O2 in London on July 4th are shared by M-Tribe contributor Fernando.
"The concert was amazing. I was in block A3. She looked amazing, especially with the new outfit and hairstyle for the opening numbers. She smiled throughout and looked like she was really enjoying herself. Dress you up and Holiday were absolutely fantastic and the crowd loved them (although there was very little of "celebration"). Frozen was great and the Open Your Hear bit got great cheers. The Michael Jackson tribute worked better than I expected. Nothing too sentimental. And it fitted really well with the 80s section. Here are some photos for you," Fernando wrote.

 | Live at the O2: Madonna's emotional onstage tribute to Jackson |
|
|
Madonna thrilled fans in London on Saturday night by performing a medley of Michael Jackson's hits at the O2 Arena - just a week before the late legend was due to grace the same stage.
The pop superstar restarted her Sticky & Sweet world tour in the British capital but stopped the show to give her own personal tribute to Jackson, who passed away in Los Angeles last week.
The Material Girl recently confirmed that she planned to perform with Jackson at one of his 50 comeback concerts, which were due to kick off on July 13.
Madonna halted the gig halfway through while iconic images of the tragic star flashed up on screens behind her.
As the beat to Jackson's classic hit "Billie Jean" was pumped into the arena, one of her dancers, dressed in the King of Pop's trademark black and white with a wide-brimmed hat and white gloves, began performing Jackson's most famous moves - including moonwalking across the stage.
The song turned into a medley with another classic Jackson hit, "Wanna Be Startin' Something", much to the delight of the London crowd.
Madonna told the audience, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known - Michael Jackson!"
Later in the gig, the lyrics to Jackson's hit track "Man in the Mirror" were flashed up on screen as Madonna took to the stage wearing a black armband and a single white glove - in honor of the late music legend.
In an interview before the concert, the star expressed her shock over the sudden passing of her friend -- and explained her onstage tribute.
She says, "I am so terribly sad about Michael Jackson's death. I don't know what artist wasn't inspired by him.
"I chose 'Billie Jean' (to perform at the O2) because it's instantly recognizable.
"Kento, my dancer, was obsessed with Michael all his life. And when Michael was having auditions for his tour, Kento really wanted to go but he'd already made a commitment to me. So now he's about to have his moment and be Michael at my show."
A final tribute to the late Michael Jackson came in the show's final number - "Give It 2 Me".

Madonna pays tribute to Michael Jackson in concert
Madonna paid tribute to Michael Jackson on Saturday night in the same arena where he was to stage his comeback, dancing along with an impersonator doing Jackson's distinctive moves.
Jackson, who died last week, was to begin a series of 50 concerts at the 23,000-seat O2 starting July 13..
A picture of a young Michael Jackson appeared on stage while Madonna was performing "Holiday," then the impersonator came on, wearing a sequined jacket, white T-shirt, white glove and white socks in the Jackson manner..
The music then switched to Jackson's song, "Wanna Be Starting Something," and the impersonator worked through Jackson's moves, including the famous moonwalk. The impersonator didn't sing..
After the number, Madonna told the crowd, "Let's give it up for one of the greatest artists the world has ever known," and the crowd roared its approval..
The impersonator's appearance would not have surprised anyone paying close attention to Madonna's Web site, which had a picture of him dancing in rehearsal..
An estimated crowd of 17,000, including the fashion designer Valentino, turned out for Madonna's concert, the first of two this weekend in London on her "Sticky & Sweet" tour..
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, Madonna had said she was "terribly sad" about Jackson's death..
"To be able to do what he did at such an early age was unearthly, everybody grew up in awe of him," The Sun quoted her as saying..
"To work with him and become friends, and hang out with him, was exciting for me. I used to love picking his brains about musical stuff."

 | Live at the O2: O2 transport updates |
|
|
Fans travelling to The O2 for the first two concerts of Madonna's Sticky & Sweet Tour 2009 leg next weekend should be aware that the Jubilee line will be closed for upgrade works on Saturday, July 4 and Sunday, July 5 between the Green Park and Stratford stations of the London Underground, meaning that there are no services to North Greenwich where The O2 is.
This is a recurring situation that has happened for most of the week-ends so far, including those where concerts where taking place at The O2, so there is nothing to worry about but fans would probably check for alternative routes and solutions in advance.
There is a dedicated topic at the MadonnaTribe Forum you can check by clicking here, the online website of Transport for London can help with their Journey Planner service, and also the official site for the O2 Arena has released some useful information that you can read by clicking here.
