When the MadonnaTribe team had the chance to sit down for a chat with multifaceted artist Carlton Wilborn - who worked with Madonna in many legendary projects such as the Blond Ambition Tour, The Girlie Show and the Vogue music video - he told us he was giving the final touches to a book that he described as "the most important thing I will be doing in my career".

Then he released "Front & Center - How I learned to live there", which is indeed much more of a biography, but an engaging journey in the story of who we are and where we come from, but at the same time it is a book of poetry and visuals, and is most of all a story of hope.

And now Carlton's latest incarnation comes in the form of a unique CD, a distinct creation of rich intensity and theatrical flair that starts right there where "Front & Center" ends and will transport you into a world that is sewn seamlessly to the soul of Carlton Wilborn.

"A Call for the Warriors" by Carlton Wilborn is now out, and MadonnaTribe is happy to bring their readers the first look at this inspiring CD, as well as to help Carlton to address the fans himself and let them know about the "Call for the Warriors".

I’m so glad you’re checking out my debut album. “A Call For The Warriors” is the original music for the multi-media theater show i’m currently producing.
The themes of the music will further expand my mission to support others into their own freedom and healing.

It’s been my vision for many years to step out with my own music voice, but all the while I knew it would have to be authentically Carlton, and not follow the confines of anyone else.
Feeling the powerful support from my fans regarding my book, ignited in me the necessary courage, to trust my writing, put it to music and make it available for all to enjoy.

This distinct creation is a hybrid of contemporary and multi-cultural sounds and rhythms, fused with poetry and song. Its rich intensity and theatrical flair will transport you into a world that is sewn seamlessly to my soul.

YES… I was asleep in the middle of the night, and through my minds eye, I watched as the ceiling of my bedroom began to part itself, giving way to the crystal clear, sparkling blue sky, with all of its possibilities. Almost as if it were, that told-through-the-ages, Red Sea moment, beckoning the Hebrews into their new life.

The message being delivered was clear. It was a confirming Yes, that all could be available to me, if I would let go of those way’s and those things, that obstruct my connection to The Divine. Yes, I was being called-out to remember the strength of my spirit.

I saw that sky, that delicious sky, with not a cloud in sight!

And, as I lay there slowing becoming immersed in bliss, I also became aware of the work, the sweat-of-my-brow work that was before me, so that I could be one with those natives of Shangri-la. Yet, also as I lay there, I realized I was surrenderedly settled in the knowing, that IT, what I had to face, was ALL GOOD. Because I was baring witness to the would-be-prize. The Prize was my freedom, and it was real, tangibly real. I lay there breathing it in, letting the feeling expand, without a blink of distraction, and then it happened… I WOKE UP as I woke up… “OH WOW”… and then I began…

Thank you for the support…ENJOY!

Carlton

So Sultry! Sensuous and truthful. Images of a few milleniums past come to life while listening. Sahara, India, the Nile, Bedouins, palaces, Venice. One can feel the earth, water and fire. It is like watching a great movie, and while it takes you on a meditative journey, it makes you want to dance. Or out on the greatest fashion show!

AUDACIOUS! STRONG! DARING!

This project is a one-of-a-kind venture into spiritual clarity and fierce beckoning.
Carlton dares to compel all of the greatness he can muster to himself, by making room for more! He speaks boldly and lets the music act as a mantra of force and faithfulness, shaking away dead leaves to expose the greatest part of the self to itself.

GRACE!

Carlton Wilborn presents a powerful artistic and personal presence. He is one of the most respected performers in Los Angeles and worldwide. His dynamic style and unique configurations of strength, artistry, originality, and versatility have kept him thriving on the many stages of the entertainment machine.

Wilborn began his professional career as a principal dancer with the world renowned Hubbard Street Dance Company in Chicago. Blending street savvy and urban sensibilities with an inherent elegance, grace, stature, and commitment to integrity, he naturally commands the stage. As a dancer, actor, and writer, he is a force to be reckoned with; and as a choreographer, director, and dance instructor, he guides the pursuits of fellow artists with the same level of excellence and creativity he brings to his own craft and art.

After working as a soloist for five consecutive years in Ruth Page's Nutcracker, and as a resident guest artist for nine months with Ballet Met, Carlton followed his internal compass to Hollywood. He quickly became one of the city's premiere dancers, landing the position of Madonna's pillar of strength for the Blond Ambition and Girlie Show tours.

Among the over 20 A-list film and TV projects and the many stellar stage projects which have featured Carlton Wilborn are Madonna's feature film Truth or Dare, the recently released motion picture Hoax and stage plays Blade to the Heat and the Ten Commandments, television shows “Lincoln Heights,” “NYPD Blue, “the Practice,” “CSI: Miami,” “L.A. Firefighters,” “Fame L.A.,” “Tuesdays with Morrie,” and “Made Men.” He served as choreographer for the upcoming motion picture release Yellow, starring Roselyn Sanchez.

Throughout his illustrious career, Carlton has also worked with such award-winning luminaries as music icons Janet Jackson and Michael Jackson, actors Richard Gere and Val Kilmer, choreographers Twyla Tharp, Lynne Taylor-Corbett, and Margo Sappington, director George Wolfe, and producer Joel Silver, as well as many others.

He has also been featured in TV commercial spots for Levi Strauss, Round Table Pizza, Toyota, Visa, AT&T and Chrysler. And he is thrilled to be currently representing Orkin as well as LensCrafters.

Carlton lives in Hollywood, California. With his recently formed Treelife Publishing Company, he is gearing up to build a library of inspiring and empowering books and CDs, the first of which is his newly released, autobiographically based book, Front & Center - How I Learned to Live There.
Carlton has done charitable work over the years for Project Angel Food, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and The Children's Hospital Los Angeles. His daily spiritual practices help him keep his truth and his principles front and center in his heart, soul, and life.
