Madonna, live in concert, 1 April 2006, Euroborg

MadonnaTribe contributor Theo has sent in this interesting Madonna-related tidbit.

“Since last night there are posters all over the city of Groningen (the Netherlands) announcing a Madonna concert in Euroborg Stadium on April 1st.

As you may have guessed, this happens to be an April Fool’s Day joke.

The story behind it, is that this brand new stadium was, beside from football, the home for big stadium shows. Then the board of Groningen decided they didn’t want to have concerts in this venue. One of the political parties was so furious about this, that they wallpapered the city with this announcement: a big black poster with white letters: “Madonna, live in concert, 1 April 2006, Euroborg“.
