HX on MadonnaFactory: An Immaculate Celebration
Here’s another review of the MadonnaFactory event that appeared on HX magazine, the hottest guide to gay nightlife and culture in New York City.
“Benefit season is upon us, kids. It’s all about raising awareness and cash for a cause, but let’s be honest: Open bars and yummy hors d’oeuvres never hurt – not to mention wealthy gay philanthropists dressed in designer duds for spring.
But there’s always time for frivolous fun! Madonna Factory organizers Damon Gonzalez, Karen Tuominen, Jeremy Rizzi and Bonnie Tocwish turned out a fever-hot event at the LES’s Apocalypse Lounge last Saturday night to honor Madonna.
Aside from music and videos, guests were treated to original art work, nude pics and live performances including a moving rendition of ”Like a Prayer” by Sista Kit, an indie-rock ”Ray of Light” by Tocwish and Evil Lucy, plus appearances by Apocalypse owner Fred Rothbell Mista and ”Runaway Bride” Raven Renee.”
