Laura Pausini spoke again in Mexico about her collaboration with Madonna and how it came up:

“What happened to me this year was totally unexpected. I received music material from many famous artists.

I was just finishing writing this record when Madonna‘s song arrived. When the song arrived from the producer I immediately realized that the music of that song would match perfectly with some of my lyrics.

When I heard the demo sung by Madonna I was fainting.
I can’t deny that the fact that as the song was written by Madonna it made put a special attention and care in it.

I didn’t want to sing in English on this record and when I learned that Madonna was giving me the opportunity to write in my language without following her lyrics.. that was the moment I decided to do the song.

I never felt this affection before when singing a song from a big artist like her
Madonna gave this great satisfaction and I admire her a lot.”
