Mom Madonna still sexy pop diva
Now she’s a mom. Now she has her own children’s book. So is she still the same sexually suggestive, top-flight performer dripping with promiscuity as she was when she was the Material Girl 20 years ago?
Well, we’ll find out this “Holiday” weekend.
Madonna is in town for two shows at the Wachovia Center, Sunday and Monday nights, and the Daily Times will be there to bring you all the details.
The diva of pop has been touring the country on what she is calling her “Re-invention Tour” after sales of her 2003 album “American Life” have been, well, “Borderline” paltry.
And while legions of fans have been coming out to see if the 45-year-old “it girl” still has her brash, bravado that made her such a controversial and wildly successful music icon – and paying $300 face value for tickets, and twice that on eBay – the early reviews are that her show is better than ever.
Madonna is supposedly playing many of her older, classic tunes on this tour, but with new instrumentation and a new identity, making them seem fresh and new all over again.
According to a review in the Sacramento Bee, the tour pays back with plenty of bang for the buck. The staging and production include a half-pipe skateboard ramp, trapeze acts and a giant V-shaped catwalk that descends over the floor seats.
Madonna‘s backing band is a compact six members, including two back-up singers, but the beats boom hot and heavy.
